Please ignore the title when I say how EASY this recipe is. Our quest for a healthy lifestyle is never over, and all those difficult long recipes can be overwhelming. Don’t get me started on those ingredients that are impossible to find. Which brings us here, to my very simple and beautiful smoothie, The Purple Majesty.
I bet you’re wondering what’s up with the name? Well it’s purple and it’s DELIGHTFUL . No seriously it’s a little deeper than that. I like to think of this smoothie as the gateway to a kingdom of variety. You can sub out ingredients for others easily and create a variety of flavors. Once you try this you’ll see exactly where I’m coming from lovelies.
Now this particular variation of my recipe has a strong banana flavor, which is what I wanted at the time. To lesson the taste just use a little less than half a banana and increase another fruit or add in a sub. Also this smoothie is very thick and smooth, you can sub some frozen fruits and add in some granola, for a light crunchy smoothie approach. Now on with the recipe:
1 whole banana (Frozen)
⅓ cup of blueberries (frozen)
¼ cup of cold green tea (unsweetened or sweetened)
¼ cup of milk,
½ cup of pineapple juice (cold)
1 tablespoon of honey (optional)
¼ cup of granola (optional)
2 teaspoons of sugar (optional)
Cut the banana up into smaller pieces and add them in the blender with the blueberries. Add in the tea and milk and blend a little. Now slowly add in pineapple juice,and optional ingredients like honey, granola, sugar.
When the smoothie is completely smooth and blended it becomes a beautiful purple color! I usually garnish my drinks with mint leaves, blueberries or sliced strawberries to add to the beauty, especially if I’m serving guests.
